I’m generally reluctant to post quotes here or on social media because, in the words of a friend, “No one happy ever posts inspirational quotes on the internet.” And it’s true!
But I can attest to some level of happiness on this first day of the new year. I mean, it’s not like an extreme level of happiness, and certainly not enough for a humble brag. There are no sun-drenched selfies, and gluten-free goodies, or artful portraits with significant others, or high contrast images of me running marathons of whatever. This happiness has no place in a Sex and the City film, and can’t be slowed down for an inspirational montage.
Today, there is general contentment and feelings of goodwill toward men and women. I hope you are happy this year, Anonymous Reader. I wish you all the very best.
And, so, a quote.
“Growth demands a temporary surrender of security. It may mean giving up familiar but limiting patterns, safe but unrewarding work, values no longer believed in, and relationships that have lost their meaning.”
– John C. Maxwell
I hope 2018 sees you forge lots of new and exciting paths. Make a change. Take a risk. Break the cycle.
