Sort Of: The Final Season — November 17th on CBC Gem!

All good things must come to an end, huh?

Truthfully, I’ve been grieving Sort Of. Season three will be its last.

This show has been an incredible gift. I’ve said it before, but it’s rare to be a part of a series wherein I not only connected with the material from multiple intersecting identity access points, but I was also granted the opportunity to just be within the creative process.

There was no burden of representation, and I was able to bring my own creative voice into the fold, and that freedom allowed me to reach one of my biggest career milestones. I am so grateful to Fab Filippo and Bilal Baig. I am also grateful to Jennifer Kawaja and the entire Sphere team. I am so grateful to every single creative soul I connected with over the course of being a part of this show. It changed me.

It has also been an incredible turning point for 2SLGBTQIA+ community representation. This show has meant so much to so many people, and it has changed opinions and saved lives. The Canadian film and television industry can be very resistant to taking storytelling risks (especially queer ones), but when it does take those risks, it creates work that resonates on the world stage. I hope that Sort Of is but one of many, many more projects to come that give voice to underrepresented communities.

Anyhow, rambling. Please watch the final season, available now on CBC Gem. And thanks.
