2024 Canadian Screen Award Nominee!

Fantastic news today — I’ve been nominated for a 2024 Canadian Screen Award! Home Sweet Rome has been nominated for Best Children’s or Youth Fiction Program or Series.

As I mentioned in my previous post, working on the series with showrunners Matt Huether and Courtney Jane Walker was a real thrill, as was time spent in the room with an incredible team (Cole Bastedo, Fatuma Adar, Sara Peters, Kristy LaPointe, Madeleine Patton, Mara Perbelli, Raf Antonio). It takes a village, they say… or 2.873 million people in a city roughly 28 centuries old.

Also shouting out to the Shaftesbury team and Macy Murdoch. Jessica Meya and I spent two years slowly baking a concept that has blossomed under the stewardship of Jennifer Kassabian and Robina Lord-Stafford. It’s so awesome to see them recognized for their talent and hard work today.

And then there’s Sort Of. And Jann. And Slasher. And Popularity Papers. And How to Fail as a Popstar. And even the Scott Brothers and the Marilyn Denis team and Storyline Entertainment. So many creative collaborators along the way are getting their flowers and I am HERE FOR IT.

Canadian television is a hotbed of talent, and at a time of industry contraction and short orders and overall uncertainty, it’s nice to be reminded of all the amazing work being done. Support Canadian television.

CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!
